Assessment
A full history and a thorough examination of the skin, nails, circulation and, where relevant, your gait. You leave with a working diagnosis you understand and a plan agreed with you, not handed to you.
Gait analysis in Canary Wharf, London: a detailed assessment of your posture, movement patterns and coordination while walking or running, carried out by HCPC-registered podiatrists using Footscan® technology, with a personalised treatment plan and, where they help, Phits 3D-printed insoles designed from your own scan data, across both London clinics.
The short answer
Your initial consultation covers a full history and a thorough examination of the skin, nails, circulation and, where relevant, the way you walk. We explain what we find in plain English and agree a working diagnosis with you.
Where it is safe to do so, treatment starts the same day, and you leave understanding the plan and the options in front of you.
When the same niggle returns every time you build your mileage, the cause is usually in how you load, not bad luck. Measuring your foot strike and loading pattern with Footscan® shows exactly what is happening at each step, so the plan targets the cause.
Asymmetries in how your feet load can contribute to joint, muscle, ligament or tendon discomfort further up the chain: the ankle, knee, hip and lower back. A dynamic assessment connects those dots and gives your rehabilitation a clear direction.
Insoles are often sold as a default fix. Gait analysis shows whether a biomechanical abnormality is really present and correctable. Where it is, we can prescribe Phits 3D-printed insoles designed from your own scan data; where it is not, we say so.
The goal is not a report, it is you moving pain-free. Your podiatrist builds a personalised plan of graded exercise, footwear changes and activity advice matched to your goals, and reviews your progress against the objective baseline your first scan set.
You do not need to be injured to benefit. Identifying inefficient movement patterns and asymmetries early lets you address them with targeted exercise and footwear advice before they become a problem, which matters if you are increasing training or returning after a break.
Christine is the feet whisperer, she is marvellous! I should have gone to her before I actually did. If you have any issues with your feet, do not hesitate — book an appointment to see her. Highly recommended!

You can self-refer and book online, with no GP referral needed. Many patients claim treatment back through private health insurance: cover varies by policy, and some insurers ask for a GP or consultant referral first, so please check your plan before booking.
Everything starts with an accurate diagnosis. We find what is really causing the problem, treat it, and help you keep it from coming back, so you can stand, walk and train on comfortable feet.

The care your foot problem actually needs, from painless skin and nail work to nail surgery under local anaesthetic, using sterile technique. Where a procedure carries real risk, we talk you through it and take consent first.
Where it helps, we draw on on-site MRI and X-ray, custom orthotics made in our own lab, and treatments such as laser and shockwave, so the right tool is matched to the right problem rather than a one-size-fits-all fix.
We address the underlying cause, footwear, pressure or load, so the problem is less likely to return, and offer routine reviews and medical pedicures so your feet are looked after before there is a problem, not only once there is one.
"I wish I had known about you sooner." We hear it constantly. Feet are easy to ignore until they hurt, so we treat podiatry the way a dentist treats teeth: a regular check and a little maintenance keeps small problems from becoming big ones.

FAQ
Gait analysis is a detailed assessment of your posture, movement patterns and coordination while walking or running. Your podiatrist watches how you move, and a Footscan® pressure plate measures how each foot strikes and loads through every step. The findings guide a personalised plan of exercise, footwear advice and, where useful, insoles.
Runners and active people with recurring niggles, anyone with foot, ankle, knee, hip or lower-back discomfort linked to how they move, and patients whose injuries keep returning. It also suits people who simply want to move more efficiently and reduce their risk of future injury before a problem starts.
A couch examination shows structure; gait analysis shows function. Measuring you in motion reveals asymmetries in foot strike, alignment and loading that only appear when you walk or run. Those asymmetries can contribute to joint, muscle, ligament or tendon discomfort further up the body, including the ankle, knee, hip and back.
Phits are high-tech 3D-printed corrective insoles, the first of their kind, designed from your own dynamic gait analysis using Footscan® data rather than from a static mould. We recommend them only where a biomechanical abnormality would genuinely benefit from correction; they support your rehabilitation plan rather than replace it.
They overlap, and we will guide you to the right one. If you are in pain now, a Biomechanics & MSK consultation assesses and diagnoses the problem, and may include gait analysis. If you want a detailed movement assessment, with objective Footscan® data and a plan built around it, book gait analysis directly.
Wear or bring the footwear you use most, including the trainers you run or train in, and clothing that lets us see your knees and lower legs, such as shorts or leggings. Bring any existing insoles or orthotics and a note of your goals. You will be walking, and possibly running, during the appointment.
